about us

Eliza Hunsinger

Eliza is a licensed acupuncturist and board-certified herbalist who has been studying Chinese medicine since 2007. She received her four-year master’s degree in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science. Eliza is currently advancing her education in classical Chinese herbal medicine in Sharon Weizenbaum’s graduate mentorship program.

Eliza places great emphasis on the patient/practitioner relationship, ensuring a comfortable, safe space for healing and encompassing the ability to make a patient feel heard and understood. As a business owner and mom of twins, Eliza understands the challenges of prioritizing healthy habits. She helps patients implement simple positive self-care practices that are rooted in classical Chinese medicine, yet practical for the modern patient.

Eliza has experience treating a wide variety of conditions including: women’s health, digestive disorders, psycho-emotional disorders, autoimmune conditions, orthopedics, and complex cases that are underserved by the traditional medical system.

Eliza and Amy joined forces (through blood, sweat, tears, and a lot of laughs) in 2021 to co-found their dream practice, Be Well Katonah. When not at work, you can find Eliza chasing her daughters around town or on family hikes with her husband and beloved rescue dog.

Amy Hausman

Amy has been practicing the healing arts for over 25 years. She has experience treating both chronic and acute illnesses, autoimmune diseases, cancer support, pain management, emotional trauma, psychospiritual support, women’s health, and general health and wellness.  Amy is a board-certified Chinese medicine practitioner, licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.), and ordained minister. She holds a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, and a Certificate In Wholeness Healing (Ord.Min.) from the I.M.School of Healing Arts.

It is Amy’s goal to create not only a patient-focused practice, but also to implement wellness workshops and help others on their path of self-transformation. During the Covid pandemic, Amy brought together people seeking healing and comfort with her World Wholeness Healing Initiative. Using various healing modalities, including crystal singing bowls, Amy combined the vibrational frequency and tones of sound-healing with guided chakra meditations to help them remotely. She ended each session with an intention to send healing and peace to all who need it anywhere in the world.

Following the pandemic after 15 years in private practice, Amy co-founded Be Well Katonah. She hopes to use her inspired, intuitive skills to support her patients and community at large.

Cathie Grzeczka

Welcome Be Well Katonah's newest massage therapist, Cathie Grzeczka. Cathie's massage practice is dedicated to lymphatic drainage. In her own words, "It is my belief that we can help keep our bodies in balance through massage. Lymphatic drainage massage is a perfect way to achieve this balance because the lymphatic system—simply put—is our body’s “sewage system,” keeping our fluid levels in balance. The light rhythmic massage central to this method helps relax the body, reduce inflammation and boost the immune system. It’s a holistic approach to detox the body and bring relief."

Cathie holds specialty certifications in breast cancer rehabilitation and as a lymphedema therapist from Klose Training and certified Oncology Therapist from Tracy Walton & Associates. She has focused her continuing education on lymphatic drainage massage.

As a licensed massage therapist in New York & Connecticut, and certified in Shamanic reiki, Cathie is a graduate of the Finger Lakes School of Massage.

“Amy Hausman has been a godsend for me. I arrived in her office barely able to hobble, exhausted and debilitated from the effects of chemo- and radiation therapies and, over time, she gently rebuilt my strength and vitality.  Amy is a highly skilled practitioner of her ancient art.  I have counted on her to address multiple challenges, and she has been outstandingly effective every time.  Very highly recommended.”
